As a service ministry we recognize that social justice is one of the passions on God’s heart. Our service team seeks to be servants to the local community of Oakland, but also the greater community of the city of Pittsburgh. Our task is to provide and facilitate opportunities for Cornerstone students to serve in different avenues, such as homeless shelters, food banks, and community organizations. Our ministry also partners with a homeless ministry in Pittsburgh called the LIVING Ministry (http://www.livingministry.org/),
founded by former Cornerstone students. For more info, contact: Lisa - lgm11@pitt.edu |
College can be a pivotal time for a lot of Christian men as we start to make life-changing decisions. What will our future vocation be? How should we handle relationships? Most importantly, how do we have our faith shape and influence our lives? Cornerstone’s men’s ministry tries to help guide men to figure out answers to these questions. Throughout the school year, the men’s ministry will host different kinds of activities to encourage different kinds of interactions between men. Group discussions and studies will allow men to discuss different aspects of Christian faith that impact our lives. There will also be “manly” activities to encourage fellowship and allow the men of Cornerstone to get to know each other such as paintballing, movie nights, and everything else in between. Event requests are more than welcomed! “I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.” -1 John 2:14 (NIV) For more info, contact: Drew - aka27@pitt.edu |

Our freshman ministry is specifically geared to help students grow in their faith, and stay connected to a life-giving community throughout college. Freshmen ministry is run throughout the fall semester to provide a community just for freshmen students to connect with each other. Our goal is to provide an environment where students can begin to form a family away from home during this pivotal transitional time in their lives.

As a Christian ministry we believe that the Bible is foundational to understand how God has spoken and revealed himself to us. The Cornerstone Small Group ministry is a great way to investigate what the Bible says and how it relates to our everyday lives. Each Small Group provides an opportunity to connect with others in a safe environment. Each study is led by a Cornerstone leadership student in the ministry. This is a secure place to bring your genuine questions about Christianity and to seek what the Bible has to say about them. For more info: check out our Small Groups page |
The vision of the Cornerstone worship team is to connect Cornerstone students to God and each other through weekly worship and the worship team community. The prayer team is an integral part of the Cornerstone ministry because prayer is the primary way in which we are able to communicate with God. Spend time getting to know other students and praying for God to move on our campuses during all-night prayer each semester. Come to a meeting and explore the meaning of prayer, discover new ways of praying, and join in time of fellowship. Prayer meetings are held 7:15pm every Wednesday in Fellowship Hall.

The drama ministry seeks to communicate the message of Jesus Christ and bring the scriptures to life through the means of the arts. Jesus was a story teller and we want to utilize the dynamic power of story and imagery to share the teachings of Jesus. The drama team has been newly re-forged and is looking for people who are interested in drama, acting, writing, etc to use their passions to glorify God.

As technology is continually changing, there is a constantly growing opportunity to harness that technology to connect people to God. The
tech team uses their technical knowledge to put up words for the people to worship, run the sound board for worship, update the website, shoot videos that will later show up on YouTube, and much more. We always need help Wednesday nights with sound and media presentations. Please contact the tech leaders if you have any interest! Grace - geo2@pitt.edu Joel - joel.cook.bbc@gmail.com |
